In a Jam is a marvelous contemporary romance with two main characters dealing with some serious fallout in their personal lives (she, being left at the altar and the death of her grandmother, and he, the death of his father, returning home to take over the family farm and also taking custody of his niece who is struggling with trauma of her own.) This sounds like it would be a big pile-on of angst but it is not. There are very serious and emotional scenes but there is also a lot of humor and found family and oh my word, the physical intimacy is wow.

The audiobook narration by Jason Clarke and Kit Swann is fantastic. Their characterizations are clear and distinct, their interpretations are excellent, and emotion is infused into what they are reading. I waited to read the book until the audiobook was released a few months after the ebook. I am very glad I did.

Kate Canterbary is very good with portraying fallible people dealing with a lot of serious issues finding love and hope and laughter. In a Jam is a great addition to her booklist. Shay and Noah are going on my reread list for sure.
