This book was crazy hilarious AND crazy heart breaking
MAJOR trigger warnings are in order…
• domestic violence, battery, child abuse, incest, homophobia, lesbophobia,
ALL kinds of slurs, rape, fat-phobia, ableism, child pregnancy, gaslighting, colourism, suicidal thoughts, suicidal ideation, panic attacks, racism, misogyny, bullying, excrements, body shaming, body dysmorphia, dissociation, eating disorder, depression, self-harm, racism
Don’t get fooled, those are not even listed in a particular order; it’s some CRAZY shit page after page (and even NEW shit right at the end).
BUUUT this is reality for a looooot if not MOST people; don’t let your sheltered childhood make you believe any different. If any of the above are things you’ve had the privilege to never experience first-hand PLEASE read this book; if these are things you know too well, consider reading this book (but DO respect your limits, amiga!)
It’s also weirdly inspiring so yeah: a mix of funny bittersweet and disturbing :)
NB: My conception of “funny” = out of pocket statements!
