The Desegregation of Public Libraries in the Jim Crow South: Civil Rights and Local Activism by Shirley A. Wiegand, Wayne A. Wiegand
5.0
What was assigned reading for my masters program turned out to be a book that challenged me to reflect on the contributions the library profession made to systemic racism. This was an incredibly thorough history of grassroots movements to challenge segregation of libraries and the lack of a response from the American Library Association. I highly recommend this to anyone in the library field!
