Heartstopper Volume 3 by Alice Oseman
5.0
In the 3rd Volume, the Heartstopper gang heads to Paris. Nick & Charlie grapple with coming out to their friends particularly one friend. I don’t go around announcing I’m straight but that’s my privilege as a straight cis female. So, I really liked how Oseman talked about the importance of this to LBGT characters – how they have to grapple with it & their fears on how they are perceived and the bullying that may result. How it was handled in this novel was perfect. This volume also deals with mental health, eating disorders, cutting, depression.
What I really loved about these graphic novels are the side stories at the end. Also, at the end of the 3rd novel, she illustrates different views of Charlie and Nick’s rooms. I really enjoy stuff like seeing details of someone’s room. I loved the development of the different characters.
I cannot wait for Heartstopper Volume 4 & I’m so jealous it’s available in the UK already! These are really adorable & re-readable!
