proud of myself for managing to finish this book before i go on holiday 🤲 anyway this was as good as the priory of the orange tree, again the writing was dense but so detailed and the plot was impressively extensive. i really like how the author even made adjustments to the countries with places that existed at the time this book is set but no longer exist at the time the later book is set, that was a really nice touch. i don’t know if i mentioned this in my review for the priory of the orange tree but i like how the author develops each perspective character’s personality and that they’re all distinguishable and have a slightly different voice. i’m so sad that dumai died i thought she would somehow be saved by the dragons 😠and now nikeya is alone :( however im happy for wulf and thrit i honestly didn’t expect them to get together but i also thought the way thrit was with wulf seemed a bit more than platonic, they are so cute together <3 also canthe being the haithwood witch was not something i saw coming but obviously made so much sense and she was a bit of a suspicious character from the start. i wish glorian and wulf had been able to spend more time as friends :,) i feel like the next book i read will feel so bland after this
