I picked up this book because
1- The author is an autopsy technician by trade
2- she hosts a crime/horror podcast called Morbid
I thought with that combination I was in for an intriguing fox/rabbit chase between Dr Wren Muller and the Butcher of the Bayou Jeremy.
It wasn't unfortunately
this was repetitive with a passive main lead and a not-that-smart psychopath.
The author was flaunting her knowledge of serial killers' history mentioning every infamous one and their crimes.
I was going to give it 3 stars, but that ending sucked because I wasn't informed that it ends on a cliffhanger.
Crime books should not do that
