Wow, this memoir was incredible. It was very hard to read at times and I had to put it down for a while. I never heard about the famine in North Korea and it was difficult to learn about it. Lucia’s courage and determination to persevere to beyond words. It was really eye opening to hear about daily life in North Korea and to see how there is no other information than what the government gives and how the people have no choice and free will or power to think for themselves. This was a really eye opening read and I highly recommend this book.
