Becoming by Michelle Obama
I can't rate this book. I'm much preferred President Obama's book about the details of his policy work and how he got at least some of those policy priorities met.
This book is too much of a story about happy family, and the kind of family that every child needs to have, but that many of us don't. Even those of us who are considered academically successful, who made it through college, who made it through masters degrees, who did PhD work, but still have to question whether it was worth living through our childhoods. Still have to prove to ourselves that surviving those childhoods was worth it in the first place.
To live in a world where there is no love, where we are seen as possessions to be fought over, and where we are never presented with those Love filled tokens of commitment. Where is that Love filled world, for the rest of us?
