The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade

4.0

The Ghost and the Goth was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I like that the author kept the book straight and short, therefore skipping out on any unnecessary details. You won't find any detours in this book.

The alternating POVs in this book worked really well. I actually also liked Alona, whereas I am usually annoyed by characters like her. Her snark balanced out her obnoxious moments, even though she wasn't nearly as obnoxious as other popular-girl protagonists. And Will was well, okay. I didn't take to him as much, mostly because he wasn't nearly as smart and fun as Alona. But I absolutely loved their chemistry. It just clicked! And the romance wasn't sappy, which made it that much cuter.

I'm only giving this 4 stars mostly because there really wasn't much depth to the story. It kind of lacked that five-star factor. This book is just one of those really well-written but light reads. A really good one at that though!
