A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers
3.0
Of all the books I read for her (for this book club) this was my favorite but that's not really saying a lot. Her writing style is very heavy on worldbuilding, but it feels like worldbuilding for worldbuilding's sake and not for the sake of the story. The characters (ESPECIALLY and specifically mosscap) seem like they only exist to serve the worldbuilding instead of vice versa which is what I would have preferred! Not like, a terrible book or anything I just always wish her character writing was stronger.
I did like the end, I thought it was cute. And I think only focusing on one character perspective made it a stronger book. But still.
