Decolonising the Palestinian Mind by Haidar Eid

4.0

Haidar Eid's political analysis - especially when discussing Palestine in relation to South Africa - is always enlightening. This very timely - and quite recent - volume of essays explores various aspects of these two different apartheid systems. His time doing his PhD in Johannesburg gives him a kind of insight that others lack. I also really like the writings on the legacy - and prescience - of Edward Said in this collection. Perhaps the best contributions Eid makes in this book is the discussion of the need to De-Osloize Palestine because of the Osloization and NGOification of Palestine as a consequence of Oslo. It's a very important book for anyone looking for a way forward that centers the liberation of Palestine and the Palestinian people.
