Call me by your name was an interesting read. The Italian country side is just charming, with the author imbuing the environment with a hazy, dreamy atmosphere which sets the perfect tone for Oliver and Elio's love story.
Despite the enchanting setting I found myself cringing quite a bit. Elio is just obsessed and that passion fuels all of his somewhat odd behavior. Overall their mutual obsession sometimes bordered on the ridiculous and I definitely found myself holding my breath, waiting for what would surely be a sudden and brutal awakening to reality.
That being said, their story was entrancing because they were so enraptured with one another. It is definitely humbling to be faced with such all encompassing passion. Elio and Oliver were in LOVE and it is gratifying to be a part of something so sincere, even distantly as a vouyer.
The ending was somewhat expected, but still sad nonetheless. Overall an okay romance novel.
