Heir of Magic by J.D. Ruffin

All in all an enjoyable read.

There were a few cringe lines and unlikely/contradictory events, but also some funny ones.

I didn’t really like Jess’ plot all the time, it was predictable and cliché, especially with her getting mad that her dad thinks she needs guidance… whle she’s a teenager. You do need guidance. But it wasn’t too bad and annoying.

Having already read book 2 and part of book 3, this book is definitely slightly more boring and generic, but it’s not bad. I’d say stick around for the rest of the series, cause it does get better and more exciting. The ending of this one is so abrupt, you have to read the next one to get a satisfying climax anyway.
