This one had sweet AND spicy. And it was very cute, but not my favorite hockey romance.
๐ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ ๐๐ป๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: The Game Changer by Lana Ferguson
๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐: Standalone
๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐: E-book on Kindle. Borrowed from Libby.
๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฟ๐ฒ: Sports romance
๐ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐: Hockey romance, brotherโs best friend, age gap, unrequited love, fake dating.
๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ผ๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐: Delilah has a ratings problem with her baking show. To help get her more viewers, she brings on hockey resident bad boy Ian Chase, her brotherโs best friend who is back in town after a whole ton of bad press of his own
๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐: This book definitely had its moments, but toward the end it dragged on a bit and I think thatโs why I lowered its rating.
Delilah was a sweet character, but lacked some depth - I felt like her crowing achievement the entire book was her decades long crush on Ian. While the love story had its moments - I definitely highlighted some key moments, especially when the slow burn wore off and the pair gave into their tensionโฆ Lana Ferguson writes some awesome Steam.
This might be an issue of timing. I really loved new hockey releases by Tessa Bailey and Becka Mack, and this one just didnโt compare. It was a little bit of a bummer, since I really enjoyed The Fake Mate.
