I liked this story, but I didn't absolutely love it. Jiminez covered some heavy topics with the FMC including mental health struggles and domestic abuse. I felt that the age gap between Daniel and Alexis was made too big of a deal, when it really didn't seem to be a problem at all. The bigger issue was that Alexis was seemingly unwilling to figure out a way to bridge the gaps in their lifestyles. I really felt that throughout almost the whole story that Daniel was too good for her. He's the definition of a golden retriever MMC and honestly feels so pure. He was willing to give up his entire life for her! I will say, I did enjoy the side characters and felt they added a much needed layer of depth to both main characters. I think overall, I'd use the word "fine" to describe this book.
