A satisfying and bittersweet end to this series!

As with all the books in this series, it starts out slooooow but ramped up toward the end. I was really satisfied with how the storyline played out and where each character ended, though I wished the battle scenes and epilogue were longer.

The combat itself was fairly well written and cinematic, I just wanted moooooore to balance out the scheming and talking. This is a series that definitely weighs heavily on the political intrigue side of things.

Never thought I’d come out of this series with sympathy for Katharine and an affinity for Pietyr, but this book went and did that!
