Thanks to HarperCollins and Edelweiss for providing me with an eARC of this book!
This was such a fun story!!! The friendships were so sweet! I honestly would be down to read an entire book of this cast just hanging out. + the characters were also so iconic on their own! 💅🏻 I loved their banter! I would’ve liked to see a bit more of Quinn (though perhaps I’m biased, because she was definitely my fave).
I also really like that this was a very modern mystery book, and that the characters acknowledged how insane the whole treasure hunt for a fortune was. They mentioned popular heist media, acknowledged how this whole story going viral on tiktok was kind of ridiculous, and were overall very self-aware regarding this whole plot.
The writing flowed very well and was engaging, which made this book super easy and fun to read! I would love to see this book turned into a movie! I think that would work super well!!!
Things I think could be a better:
⟿ I wish the romance between Lily and Leo had been developed a bit more. I understand they had a past, but I would’ve liked to see more of it.
⟿ There were a couple of monologues that felt a bit info-dumpy (for example: Caleb talking about why he doesn’t let people in, Daisy spilling her backstory, Daisy’s apology to Quinn and Leo, Leo explaining why he did it all + that he loves Lily…). I would’ve rather seen this information conveyed a bit differently.
