I finished this a few days ago on the plane flight headed out on vacation. I've known of this novel for more or less my whole life but haven't read it or seen any adaptations. I really didn't know what to expect out of it, other than having the thought that it ought to be good since it won the Pulitzer. It was a phenomenal read. It's tough in both language and content, certainly not for the faint of heart, but it also wastes no time letting you know exactly what kind of book you are getting yourself into. If you can make through the first two pages, you can make it through the novel. I'm really glad to have finally read this one! Also, pro tip, don't read this one in public unless you want to cry in front of strangers.
