The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Raised by the man who killed her parents, Jude is always on edge. With her sister, Taryn, and Vivi.

Already halfway through and am engrossed; I adore Holly's writing style as being sucked into her fantasy world.
Straight off the bat clear, the characters are correct, including our main girl Jude. I already adore Jude's character just such a strong lad. Surrounded by enemies, Prince Cardan's youngest and most complex of the High King’s sons, Jude, needs to find her place in the High Court to survive

If you love a hate-to-love trope, pick up this book. There was something about her twin sister that made me reject her: Jude was so attractive that I wanted to build a relationship with her. At times, I could see myself ultimately in their actions, which I felt were full of her personality.

She is hungry for her power. But that's how she was raised. Fight, plot, seek, and seize power. After all, she is the adopted daughter of the Fairy General. I still think that one of Cardan's bad traits might seem cruel, ruthless, and violent, but I think he's a good boy in disguise. Then transitional period when I had mixed feelings about him. He was a lonely and broken boy. All he wanted was to love and be loved, but no one seemed to care enough to give him what little he had.

What is all the power in the fairy world without any affection? A little unhealthy. What happens between the two is a unique love-hate relationship. It's a game made out of defiance. It's about power and desire. You can make something beautiful out of something horrible, but you can also ruin the beauty of something. Their relationship is a dangerous place in this book.
