I enjoyed how tense the story and mystery was and Darcy Coates kept me guessing. I thought I had it all figured out. One thing I can’t get over is how ridiculous the main character was specifically in some situations she just was so infuriating. And pretty much most of the characters acted really dumb and I felt unrealistic. But the plot twist was good in my opinion. Also for a story taking place in the USA why are we using the word kilo and kilometers over and over????? That’s my nitpicky thing but overall this is a pretty good read

The world building really connected and expanded on the other books previously in the series. The way the characters interacted was realistic and I enjoyed the build-up of their relationship. Jayne Ann Krentz has done it again.

Such a witty yet emotional story. I love the narration of this book and thoroughly enjoyed the way it was written.

Riveting and real, Julia Fox lays it all out. With wild, jarring, and descriptive scenes I couldn’t stop turning the pages.

This book did not need to be over 300 pages. It was incredibly boring and didn’t make me feel anything for it until about the last 50 pages or so. The characters (especially the MC) all seem selfish, dense… and just idk. The way some of them interact also felt incredibly unrealistic. This definitely didn’t feel like a thriller.

I found it difficult to become engaged in the story and feel invested. I felt there was so much going on to focus on and that the concepts introduced weren’t fully explained well and I remained confused for most of the book. Needless to say I think when the other part of the series is released I will try to give it another go as I really have not explored this genre before and this could have affected my reading experience with this book. Overall I wouldn’t say it’s bad though and could maybe just not be for me. May revisit in the future.

The Great Alone is a book about love, family, heartbreak, forgiveness. It is painfully raw and doesn't hold back. I cried quite a few times and could see bits of the characters' stories through out my own life story.
