Although this novel deals with some heavy subject matter, it exists within the context of a teenager’s world and feels very wrapped up in the troubles and tribulations of someone that age. I felt a bit outside of the target age demographic, but it was still a pleasant enough read.

I loved this book! Despite her uncommon circumstances, I found Kya relatable and loved how she saw the world through the lens of nature which is used to create powerful metaphors. While her life is at times very dark and troubled, hope and beauty also felt just as central to her story.

Great book! Really adds a lot of value if you’re looking to optimize your life and rewire your behaviors. There’s a lot of information covered but Clear does a great job to provide additional resources and sum up key points. I believe it’s a worthwhile read for anyone!

This book doesn’t have much of a plot but gives some wonderful food for thought, reflection on existence, and optimism about the future of humanity.

The setting is very tied to one geographic location and cast of primary character which limits the scope of the world and story some. Overall I enjoyed it but it did feel like it dragged in someways. The characters are lovable and it’s fun to watch them learn and grow.
