No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall

I listened to the last chapter of this book 3 or 4 times, having to go back and listen again because my brain just couldn't comprehend what I was listening to after the insane whirlwind of the last few chapters. Maybe it was because I listened to the audio instead of reading, but this book felt like a bunch of books mixed together to make one. It didn't really work for me.

Also - was this book insanely long or did it just take me forever? It felt like I listened to it for HOURS. The characters were all terrible and I had no idea what was happening half the time and I still don't really know if I know what all happened? There was just way too much to keep track of and way too many things happened to be able to focus on it, which really disconnected me from the entire book. Can't win them all.

This book was absolutely wild. I suspected pretty much every single character at one point. It’s a murder mystery, but it had some really funny/witty parts that added an extra great element. I loved the podcast aspect too. I listened to a few parts and the audio is fantastic!

I would honestly love a sequel to it just to see what everyone is up to! I was very invested in all of the characters and their lives, even if I thought they were all guilty at some point. Bravo!

One of my biggest downfalls as a reader is not reviewing books quick enough after I've finished them to formulate a proper review. This review will not serve this book the justice it deserves.

It was so much better than what you'd expect from this cover and this title. This book had so much more depth, love and magic than I expected and it pleasantly surprised me in all the best ways.

Here I am, writing this review over 3 months after I read the book, so forgive me for not doing the book the justice it deserves with this review.

I loved the multiple perspectives, with the added mystery element to give the reader further insight to the story. It was dark, twisty, and creepy, keeping us guessing who to like and who to trust. I loved how it unfolded but felt a little let down at the clean wrapped up ending - maybe just wanted a tiny bit more from it?

While I feel like this book was life changing for so many people, it didn't hit me like most Kristin Hannah books do. Don't get me wrong - this book wrecked me, put me back together and wrecked me all over again, but it just wasn't like her usual. I still adored it, I loved the characters in their own ways and loved their journeys. One thing I enjoy most about Hannah novels is that she doesn't feel the need to make everything seamlessly work out - she'd rather destroy our emotions for maximum effect and she does it flawlessly. I'm very intrigued now to read the next in the series, then check out the Netflix show!

It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of YA books, but I couldn't pass up something written by Lynn Painter. Her banter and character development is always top notch and never fails to make me swoon and giggle. This book was no exception.

Honestly, it was perfect. It was the perfect cutesy rom-com-esque book. For a YA book, it didn't feel cringe or cheesy like most do, it was just lovely and sweet. I adored the characters and what they went through. Perfection!

Nice and spicy, just as expected! This was a delightful little wrap up of our favourite characters, with a touch of drama and a ton of spice. It wasn't my favourite of the series, but it was a great read to wrap up the series and get a glimpse into the 'real life' of Henry and Abby.

While this authors first book will without a doubt forever be one of my favourite thrillers, I didn't read his second because of really negative reviews. With this third book, I went in totally blind, without reading into anyone else's reviews. It didn't hold up to The Silent Patient's caliber, but it was still a really great book. Albeit very different and a little strange, it was enjoyable.

It was a twisty, weird and wild ride told by a very unreliable and frankly unstable narrator. I was on the edge of my seat most of the book, trying to figure out what was going on, what was going to happen and who I could trust. The POV was told in almost a script form, which I found really refreshing and well done for a different perceptive. The ending left quite a bit to be imagined, which I don't always love, but I think it was meant to keep you guessing even after you finished. Again, it won't be making any favourites lists for the year, but it was definitely good and worth the read!

An incredibly moving, heartbreaking and honest book that follows a midwife in the 1700's. This is a time period I haven't really read many books set in, but I absolutely loved it. It did cover a lot of topics and definitely makes you angry and think about our history. The MC will probably be one of my favourite of the year.

This book was based on a true story, based on a midwife, and the author's note was incredible to listen to. I'd highly recommend spending some time reading into the true pieces behind this book!

While I didn't have this book on my radar at all, it was suggested by a well trusted friend. The hold popped up almost immediately for the audio on libby - which was FANTASTIC - and I knew it was my sign to dive in.

It was sweet, a little spicy and a little silly in a great way. The characters were loveable, relatable and swoony without being too much. In saying all of that, it won't really be a super memorable book. It felt a little 'dime a dozen' but it was still definitely worth the read (or listen!).
