i had read the author's poetry before, namely depression & other magic tricks. i didn't connect with it much, but i wanted to see if i'd like this more. not really because i have the same feelings about it that i had about depression & other magic tricks. it explores important issues and for sure means a lot to many people, but i don't like the style and it doesn't speak to me personally.

tedious to read because of how boring the style is. so flat and uninspiring, and that's just not what i want from poetry, especially not considering the theme is love, something i connect with. just not for me, but it's for someone else for sure.

i never get sick of reading oscar wilde's satire ... such a clever story with a perfect ending, so good despite being very short. along with that, the writing is beautiful and i love wilde's word choices. really fitting for the theme and atmosphere. very fun dialogue. overall, incredibly entertaining story and i love wilde ♡

i enjoyed it somewhat. the style is good, that's for sure. the poems that focus more on humanity, human relationships and desires and such were really good. that's because i could connect with them. but then the parts about america and being an american didn't speak to me at all and i found them quite boring. mixed opinions here

a precious story and some really cute art ^_^ it follows a cat cafe where the barista is actually a cat, and though it's a sweet and simple story it does discuss some mental health issues. it's well done and honestly very comforting. would reread for sure, i love cats and cat cafes ♡

hmmm, it's okay? no, it's definitely good, just not my preferred style of poetry. i can tell this will really speak to people, it's just that it doesn't resonate with me. i'm not too keen on the style and i did think it got a bit repetitive, but some poems were better than others ^^

that was ... so bland. it inspired nothing in me, no emotion whatsoever. i hate to say it but it's kind of the worst poetry collection i've ever read. i just hated it stylistically so much that even the theme of love couldn't save it.

that was terrible! this being marketed as romance is just ... unfathomable. this isn't a cute little enemies to lovers story. this is a romantic portrayal of a black woman and a conservative racist man who gaslights her. and i kept reading because i hoped the ending would do something for me, anything. but no.
