this book was so good. i loved it so so much. Elowen was an amazing heroine. Her character is so deep and has so many layers to it. Everything she did was either for those she loved or for revenge on those who wronged her (and i mean they frl did her dirty). Caydan is the blueprint for protective and territorial. it was amazing. his character development was also so great. I loved how you could tell he was in love with her through the whole book but she was constantly second guessing everything and assuming the worst. when they finally got together i literally lost it i was so excited. i'm fully in love with him. also the banter between them is as EVERYTHING. all of the side characters were amazing and well developed. the main 5 (elowen caydan saskia ryder and finnian) had an amazing found family sense to them. the fantasy world itself was very diverse and interesting i would say it was fairly developed and well written. i think my only criticism would be that i wish i had that feeling of wanting to escape to this fantasy world like i have with other fantasy worlds. i think the main reason i don't is because the series is not finished so i haven't gotten as attached yet though. now for the dragons. i loved them so much. i want more. i literally just want more content on the dragons and elowen and their bond. Over all this was a really amazing read and i 100% recommend it.

Speechless. that's how i felt after finishing this book. it was amazing. I love Jude so so so much her character is amazing. she is head strong and knows her worth. she is definitely extremely power hungry but it adds so much to her character. I usually don't like books where romance isn't the main theme, but i loved this book so much. and although the romance between Cardan and Jude wasn't the main plot it was definitely prevalent throughout most of the book, and when it started happening i was losing it. The plot twists in this book were also crazy! Over all a really amazing read. i read it in 24 hours. and i WILL be going to get the sequel as SOON as possible. the land that holly black created was so amazing. the land of elfhame was so magical and i easily fell in love with it.
Tropes:
* enemies to lovers
* fantasy
* faerie court
* slow burn (hard core)
