The Age of Magical Overthinking: Notes on Modern Irrationality by Amanda Montell
I don't usually rate my non fiction reads but something about this book makes me want to rate it three stars.
I was honestly a little bit disappointed in this. I feel like I went into this book with the wrong expectations despite having heard hardly anything about this book. Something in my mind thought that this was gonna be a very fact based book which it didn't feel like to me. It is more like a memoir which there is absolutly nothing wrong with but had I known about that fact I would have picked this book up at a different point in time.

60ish pages into the book I wrote the following note in my reading journal: The writing is beautiful, the characters are awful and I don't like them. I stand by that: The writing was quite nice in some places but I just never cared about anything that was going on.
I think that was pretty much the point but I just didn't get it.
