Main character mildly annoying, which is something awfully common in lgbt books for some reason. I have a hard time liking the main characters, they are always kinda bland.
I got this book cuz I was questioning if I was aro. I'm still questioning but it helped. Beware tho: For a book about being aro/ace, it had a LOT of annoying relationship drama and the protag apologizes like, 3 million times. It's *really* annoying.
And then Alice did her best to create a wholesome friendship scenario to paint platonic relationships in a good light, and I'm sure many ppl will like it, but the story just didn't "spark" for me. Perhaps the whole "wholesome slice of life queer story" just isn't for me. *shrugs*

Self-Made Boys: A Great Gatsby Remix by Anna-Marie McLemore
Daisy's sexuality was foreshadowed VERY clearly and VERY early which made a good chunk of the conflict not work. I don't like Nick at all, which is kinda sad. It's not the first time I dislike a trans man protagonist, despite being a trans man myself. Jay was a little more likeable.
To be honest, the story would have been more interesting had it been written through the POV of Daisy.

The audiobook is a masterpiece, with extremely talented voice actors. I had more fun with this than reading the comics even.

It's kinda rare to find straight trans male characters for some reason, which is why I picked up the book. The romance is cute and the sex scenes are great. I loved all the characters pretty much and the mystery is great.
Ed is very relatable for me, as another trans guy. I like the representation of unsupportive families, cuz it do be like that. Overall, worth a read. I had a good time.

I was expecting a fantasy, but this is mostly a drama. I still can't wrap my head aoround that ending tbh.

Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice
I've never been christian, so I couldn't relate to pretty much anything in the book. I struggled to get through it. Not even Anne Rice's beautiful prose could save this book for me. It just made no sense, dreadfully boring, and reading with non-christian eyes, it looks silly.
