I enjoyed this! But honestly DNF around 80%. I might come back and finish the story one day. It was an enjoyable adventure. Unsure if it unlocked my whole interest in LOTR. But I may take a dive back into this at a later date.

This started off very interesting, then it got very slow, and then it picked up in the end. However, I’m still slightly unimpressed with how the plot plays out. The revel/twist in the end was kinda cool though. Very unsure if I’ll read the next book. I don’t get the high praises for this one. It had an interesting premise, but to me dragged on and kinda fell flat.

This was a fun ride. A YA sci-fi thriller with black girls as the main characters written by a black woman? Sign me up! Although I feel like it ended expectantly, the story held me nonetheless.

Loved this read! It was smart, fast-paced, and a thrill ride from start to finish! This was my first “who dun it” type but the I and I’m excited to try another!

This was a wild ride and my first of Freida’s books! WILD. Infuriatingly WILD. I have so many questions.  I deducted partial stars for the subject matter (yuck) and for the filler chapters that could have made the book shorter to get to the meat of the story quicker.

This was disappointing yet slightly better than the Imbalance Trilogy. I’m not a fan of Faith Erin Hick’s writing/dialogue style. They tend to tell and not show. The dialogue is significantly different than Gene Luen Yang’s. The writing paired with the illustration changes makes this disappointing. Although, like I said, not as disappointing as the Imbalance Trilogy, which I would overall rate as a 2.5.
