What was the reason to write this book? Like I didn't hate it but it just didn't have something to say. Also I don't think Pierrot redeemed himself enough.

This has the most beautiful prose and language. So many similarities between the movie and the book that I can't really like one more than the other. The only difference I can spot is that Mary survives for a while in the book.
