Thanks to #NetGalley and #Kensington for the #ARC of #ForHerConsideration by #AmySpalding ! Here is my spoiler free review of For Her Consideration!

I loved this book to the very core of my being! Nina and Ari are two Lesbian-identifying women at the center of this love story. Ari, an up and coming Queer Actor who is a favorite in the Oscar race, meets the woman who responds to and writes all of her business email correspondences. While sparks don’t fly, what happens is even better in my opinion. This is a friends - to - lovers story that is wholesome and pure.

I like that the Hollywood aspect wasn’t huge in the book. It was in the background, but not the main focus. The main focus was the friendship that started to develop between Ari and Nina. That friendship, once they both realized they had feelings for each other, developed into a beautiful relationship!

I also loved that this story completely normalizes a curvy woman as the Main Character! Nina is beautiful, confident, and curvy. She loves her curves! I love seeing that she is so confident and proud of herself because of her curves, instead of seeing a story that she is overcoming obstacles, or that she’s happy despite her curves. That was something that really spoke a lot to me. I felt seen!

The found family in this book might just be my favorite of any book I’ve read in a long time! There are pretty much no men in this story, except for an adorable Uber driver! Also, this book felt like a love story to the city of LA.

Finally, this is a story that deals with some traumatic past relationship topics. Nina’s previous relationship, Taylor, said and did many things that stuck with Nina. Those words and actions caused Nina to withdraw from her friends and family. So check some content warnings if that’s something that may trigger you.

Overall, this was a fantastically queer and sapphic love story! It’s perfect to read when you need a light hearted, feel good, rom-com that has great characters and fantastic plot!

Thank you #NetGalley for an early copy of #CleatCute by #MerylWilsner to read and review (spoiler free)!

Do you love soccer? Do you love the United States Women’s National Soccer Team? Do you love very spicy sapphic romance? THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!

This is the book I always knew I wanted to read, but never thought would exist in the real world! I’ve been a soccer player and a USWNT fan my whole life, and this book fulfills every fantasy and daydream I’ve ever had about that world.

In the book, Phoebe Matthews, our hotshot rookie, reaches a friends-with-benefit agreement with her childhood idol and veteran USWNT star, Grace Henderson. You can imagine the spicy scenes that result from this agreement (think locker rooms….)! Not only were their hook-up scenes very mouthwatering, but the actual soccer parts were fantastic! The fact that this is also a World Cup year for our own USWNT makes this the perfect time for this book to be released.

An aspect that bears mentioning, there is also a conversation around ADHD and Autism diagnoses  in adult women that’s nice to see written into the work. It’s definitely not a major part of the story, but it does play a small role.

Overall, this book is everything I hoped it would be, and so much more! Go ahead and pre-order your copy to binge read when you’re going through World Cup withdrawals later this year!
