Short and sweet was what I expected and this did not disappoint.
At only 98 pages long I didn't expect a lot but honestly this did go above my expectations.
Though very much insta love, the relationship did get some screen time to grow which was fun.
The plot, though not revolutionary was engaging and I wanted to find out more. I feel the ending could have been drawn out slightly more to give readers some more details about the deal and the relationship with the parents.
But, overall, this was everything I needed as a little palate cleanser. The romance was fun, the plot was good and the flow was great. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for other books from this author.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 38%.
The plot felt like it was made for me but I could just not get with the execution. She was constantly calling him 'daddy' and I don't mind spice but I really just wanted some more plot.

Yet another thrilling mafia romance from Michelle Heard. I've been looking forward to reading about Damiano ever since he was introduced and this story did not disappoint.
By now I already know all the family but I feel that if you were reading this as a stand alone you would still be able to read along fairly well. The characterisation felt solid and remained consistent which I like.
Though the plot was a tad predictable it didn't necessarily detract from the overall story as I enjoyed it the whole way through.
I do wish there had been potentially a bit more on the backstory, there was some included but I just had hoped for a bit more to help really flesh out the characters.
I loved the ending with a flash forward in time. It gave a really nice ending and wrapped up the whole series in a lovely way.
I thoroughly enjoyed and I can't wait to see new series is following on from this.
Favourite Quote - I've never been attracted to a man before, and I blame the romance books for my temporary lapse in sanity.

This book. What can I say. It was going so well. I was really enjoying. The mystery aspect of who had really done it and what was going on was really engaging.
But that ending, I just can't forgive. I was so invested in the story, what was happening, what was going to happen until that last 1% of the book which really threw it all for me.
The bringing of the characters to life, the convoluted plot, the back and forth in timelines. I enjoyed all that thoroughly.
Less enjoyable was the first person POV for just one person but also the third person view for everyone else. I found that a bit odd to get my head around initially.
Then the least enjoyable. The ending.
It was such a strong book. Would definitely have been a 4/5 if not for this. But honestly I'm annoyed and disappointed. Like, why?
Not at all for me. Sorry.

This is exactly what it says it will be and for that I loved it. I wanted something fresh and new and exciting and this really delivered.
It was at times predictable but I feel this didn't detract from the story and I loved the humour in it even if not necessarily to everyone's tastes.
The characters were fun to love and hate as required and got more nuanced as you continued reading which was nice.
I did feel that coming to the end I'd wished it had just continued and that there was more to read.
That being said it did wrap up in a good spot that leads perfectly on to a sequel I will definitely be reading.
Overall a great fantasy comedy that I wholeheartedly reccommended.

This was so much more emotional than I had expected. As soon as I turned the first page it really hits you with all the feelings. There is a lot going on in this and it feels like this story in the series really stepped up in complexity. It makes for a great but emotional read that really makes you look at your own life and values which I wasn't expecting.
The romance between Elena and Jax was lovely to read even if it was full of ups and downs and the bigger family and friends interactions were fun to read now I already know most of them from the previous books.
I enjoyed the really short page long chapters that kept the tone of the book matching exactly how the characters were feeling, however I do feel that I'd maybe have wished to have seen a bit more of their conversations and life following a big plot point which I won't spoil.
Totally worth reading though and I can't wait to read the final book in this series!

I really enjoyed this one. I love Eden Summers Hunting Her series and this one absolutely didn't disappoint.
I already knew Remy from previous books but I feel like he was fleshed out well that anyone new to the series would be able to understand him quickly and that Olivia was well developed from the start with plenty of personality.
The plot felt different to anything else I'd read before and was a new take on a mafia romance which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Minor downpoint as it spent a lot of the book discussing her 'v' card and that was a major plot point.
I'd loved to have seen a flashforward as well but a perfect lead up into the next book was set perfectly and I'm sure I will see them in that.
Overall, a great mafia romance with a novel plot and I eagerly await the next in the series.

This was a solid read. It had me hooked at the beginning and I enjoyed reading through as more information was discovered.
However, it was slightly jarring when I first started as it's first person POV which in general I'm not the biggest fan of. Nevertheless I was engaged with the plot and I enjoyed the pacing.
It seemed though as it got to nearer the end it began to drag on a tad and go a fair bit slower which I didn't enjoy.
Then I figured out a big plot point before the reveal so when I came to that part the book felt a bit lackluster.
I feel like I was enjoying it very much so for the first 2/3rds then it all kind of slowed with the final part.
Overall, it was okay, but it would have done better if keeping up with the faster pace at the end.

This book had everything. Colour magic, messy romance and high stakes drama.
The whole way though this I was warned time and time again that there were messy girls and boys who lie and not once did I remember to heed the warning. Some of the chapters hurt so good and had me audibly gasping to myself and having to frantically reread parts.
The pacing was really good. It was fast paced and gripping that kept me in the loop with all the actions happening on a tight deadline.
The connections between characters were all palpable and I enjoyed as snippets revealed more about them along the way.
I enjoyed the immersion in the world and everything was wrapped up nicely I just wished there had been a little more.
Overall a great world and an amazing magic concept. I would love to read more.

Different to what I usually read but notheless was a gripping read.
There was a lot of characters to get to grips with but there was a handy list at the beginning of the book and as I got into it I found that most were fleshed out enough that I could remember them as individuals anyway.
The story was quite relaxing in a way, it was relatively medium to fast paced but the stakes were never that high and it was enjoyable to read. The mystery element really added to the story and I found myself wondering more and more as the story went on.
As good as it was however, I feel the ending was slightly rushed. It seems to go at a good pace to suddenly there's a word limit and the epilogue needed to be put in.
It's not that it was a bad ending, I just felt that more could have been expanded upon for a more well-rounded appeal.
That being said, the ending had tears in my eyes and really did well to round off the book.
Overall, a great summery read that brings to life a vibrant community with lots going on.
