Beautifully written. A complex dive into a layered character.

I subtracted a start because I felt the thesis of the book was all about her seizing power and taking what she wanted but I felt a lot of the plot just kind of happened to her and she felt powerless in it. It was frustrating for me!

Meh. A lot of arguing and then sex. Story of the gods war was pretty cool.

Dead dove club….

For some reason I thought this book would have a lot more plot than it did…..it’s a lot of smut.

Hades and Persephone both did some CRINGE things.

But it was well written so I mostly had a good time. It was enough to convince me to try book number 2

I almost DNFed this book. The concept in writing were really fun, and I felt the world as well established. However, the main character gave me the ick almost instantly.

I usually love scarlet st clairs work and I love the series from Persephone’s POV. This was just really idk boring for me?? These characters were constantly fighting and incapable of having a grown up conversations about their feelings.

I think I liked the hades character better not knowing what was going on in his head. Kinda red flag city 😅. That being said I was entertained thoroughly and felt this was a good addition to the series. It was cool getting to know more about him and the universe.

Fun and spicy. I had a good time reading it and felt the romance was mostly believable. I loved the fantasy elements and found myself wishing the author and spent more time developing everything. Would gladly have read 400+ pages of this. Kinda insta love which I’m not crazy about but author managed to pull it off.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 46%.
This was marked as a kin to fourth wing but I got around the halfway point and there were barely any dragons. Also I found the princess character to be pretty whiny and the pace too slow for my preference.
I loved the nun character and a lot of the story details but I just wasn’t excited about it.
