I laughed out loud at this book so often that I actually had to stop reading it after hours in order to maintain the Great Silence.
If you need a post-academic cathartic beach read, and you're okay with being super sad about capitalism while engaging in a beach read, this one's for you.

Some aspects of the book's handling of race didn't age well, but that's to be expected. Overall, a total scholarly treasure and actually fairly fun to read.

This book has a one-chapter bio of Tolton lifted entirely from Sr. Caroline Hemesath’s book, followed by chapters on completely random topics mostly lifted from bishops’ statements. Truly bizarre.

This is a novel, not a biography - but unlike most novelizations of saint stories, I actually really enjoyed and learned a lot from this one! Usually I find that frustrating, but here, I found it so human, so beautiful, so engrossing. Loved loved loved it.

The Virgin Martyrs: A Hagiographical and Mystagogical Interpretation by Michael J.K. Fuller
I really wanted this to be good but it just had nothing interesting to say at all on the subject. The methodology was useful if uninspired, but the conclusions… men should not write about these things.

I appreciated so much that this book dove into the materialist error of seeing the bread as just a veil for bleeding flesh. Eucharistic miracles are private revelations people. We don’t know what a risen body behaves like and you should be more afraid to make assumptions about it!!! Thanks for your time
The Acts of the Apostles by William S. Kurz
the acts of the apostles owns. the commentary gets points for liberation theology but loses points for its bizarre meditation on the.......... simple savages of malta? ? ? ?
