We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix
3.0
Wasn't my usual read, but oddly entertaining! As per usual, Grady Hendrix captivates me with their masterful narrative. Despite this not being my usual read I did enjoy this! The ending did have me a little emotional, and a bit confused. But overall I enjoyed it, despite it being a little weird
Mr Stink by David Walliams
4.0
I wasn't expecting to love it - but I absolutely did. The ending, little cliche, but touched on some lovely topics such as homelessness, prejudice and kindness. Unimaginable kindness.
Midnight Mass by F. Paul Wilson

It was good. Not sensational but I enjoyed it! The religious questions were good food for thought. I liked how the religious themes didn't take over the plot but added to the characters development. Good vampire story
Billionaire Boy by David Walliams
3.0
Good humour, though I felt the topics lacked compared to Mr Stink. The morale of the story was touching, and hopefully a few lessons could be learnt from reading this. Walliams touched on being overweight - but I felt like this was more a source of fat jokes (especially Mrs Chubbs). If he had touched more on this I would've liked it more
Grandpa's Great Escape by David Walliams
5.0
I really really really loved this book! Tackling dementia/alzheimers is tricky; but this book did it so nicely! Despite some fat jokes (again walliam, really?) This was a lovely tale about a grandson and grandfather relationship escaping the terrible twisted towers.
The ending, kinda broke my heart. The way walliam's told grandpa's death was soft and gentle, and the way there was the last moment of recognition - got me good.

My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix
5.0
I expected this to be more spooky, but honestly I wasn't disappointed. I feel this focused more on friendship and lack of voice women (especially girls) had in the 80s. It also bordered on classism, weight issues and suicidal thoughts. Despite the lack of spook I was hooked throughout the book!
Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch
medium-paced
3.5
I didn't love it as much as the first book, but the humour kept up! As for the plot, I felt like there wasn't much conclusion to the murders at the start but I feel its building up to something more in the next book (which I luckily have). Good solid read, but nothing to write home about.
Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix

As always with Hendrix's writing, I was immersed. Good old haunted house inside a warehouse, I liked thr back story of the beehive and their lore. Good ending!
My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine

The only reason it's not a 5 star rating, is how rushed I felt the ending was. But I loved this book. The humour, the cuteness, all amazing! I haven't read much romance (first one in years) but I adored this and has kept the christmas blues away!
