This book had a really unique premise. I’ve never read anything like it. It had me hooked the whole way through. I wish it wouldn’t have ended so abruptly though. I’m here for a cliffhanger. But usually some of the plot is solved/wrapped up first. Which we unfortunately didn’t get. I’m now impatiently awaiting the next book! Also I feel like our little romance was way too underdeveloped and insta lovey. Even though it wasn’t really much of a romance. Regardless I still recommend. It was pretty genre bendy. But I’d sum it up by calling it a sci-fi dystopian.

Remember that one episode in Friends where Ross teaches Joey how to use a thesaurus and he changes every single word in his letter to sound “smarter”? Yeah, that’s what Cassandra Khaw did with this entire book. To the point of barely making sense. After how much I hated Nothing But Blackened Teeth, I don’t know why I picked this one up. Definitely won’t be reading from this author again.

I actually enjoyed this. It was different than I was expecting. Even though I went into the book pretty blindly. But I enjoyed the house lore a lot. And our little romance.
