This is a book that is more vibes than plot.

This book was fascinating in the first half, seeing how each person on the space station viewed their time orbiting Earth and reflecting on what they left behind. However, after awhile it kind of got stale.

I will admit that this isn't my kind of book. However, do not let that deter you from checking it out for yourself. It's a short quick read, and the audiobook is about 5 hours long.

Be warned this book discusses the atomic bombings in Japan as well as a typhoon in the Philippians

If you're into space politics, and lot of different species of aliens then I would recommend this book.

I wish I had some small illustrations for what the main alien races looked like. I don't know if it was all the info dumping during the first half, but I had a hard time telling them apart and picturing them.

I do like how this small group of humans who rock the political landscape of these alien species are from the sanitation unit. That makes this story feel unique and interesting. They each use various aspects of their job to solve their problems. I thought that was cool.

Sadly, I do not feel interested in continuing this series for the moment.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 25%.
I stopped reading when I felt like I needed some backstory on what the Joker War was. I got overwhelmed with how much info there is and lost interest in this book.

I liked the fantasy world of the book, and even though I debated on whether I was going to DNF it, I stuck with it.

If you're looking for a fantasy pirate story, I'd recommend this one. It has a lot of sea-faring action and some political intrigue.

If you're looking for a sci-fi, cyberpunk like, and found family read, then I'd recommend giving this one a try. All the characters are unique and lovable in their own ways, and I will return to this series when book 2 drops (hopefully anyway).
