I kept this book on my coffee table in the living room for those moments when my newborn would be sleeping or when I could pick it up for a chapter or two. It is a lovely story and I learned so much about plants in between such a wonderful academic/life story of the author. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to not only read a memoir of sorts, but follow a woman along on her love affair with science.

This book has a lot of practical advice for parents who wish to live the Montessori lifestyle with their child. I read it because I am planning to also embrace Montessori education with my child. The author discusses how to deal with the various emotions that toddlers experience. Each chapter has good information for Montessori in the home, respecting the child, but setting clear limits. There are plenty of useful tips for parents and I would recommend.
