I don’t want to be a hater, but I feel like when book awards shortlist these “modern” books where the format replicates social media, they end up saying nothing. Just saying shocking things with the guise that this is how our society operates, doesn’t actually make any social commentary, it’s just bad writing.

How has a book that took me 10 minutes to read made me cry? Such a beautiful book and the illustrations are wonderful
