My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
2.0
finished this one in 3 hours- didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either. Personally think it was over-hyped!
The plot was ok, the characters were ok and I’m not a huge fan of the style of writing and how she laid out the plot. Not a memorable book for me! Not much to say about it really- no plot twists or shocking endings

First Date: An absolutely jaw-dropping psychological thriller by Sue Watson

Firstly I’ll say I literally didn’t put this down- read it about 5 hours! I can honestly say I absolutely loved it! The authors style, how the characters were represented, the ‘subtleness’ of the creepy atmosphere- amazing. When I got to the point where Alex dies I thought to myself ‘SURELY THAT CANT BE IT’- AND IT WASNT!!!! I mean wtf!? NOT HARRY SURELY!
the one negative I do have is I wish we had found out what happened with Chloe- what did harry do? Did he runaway? Kill himself? Kill Chloe? Kill Hannah?? I do feel like the ending was unfinished- not even like it’s a cliffhanger- just a bit ‘oh that’s it?’
I did also find myself feeling sorry for Alex nearer the end (which I hate myself for)
Loved it!

Date Night by Samantha Hayes

So I read this in one sitting and I didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t LOVE it either! I really like how Hayes switched throughout chapters to ‘before’ and ‘after’ the “incident” and I did enjoy reading it up until the last few chapters. Nice twist at the end but it felt unfinished, I feel like it could’ve done with a few more chapters discussing what happened ‘after’. I do also wish we got to know the couple a bit better at the beginning- I.e what their relationship was like before etc- to really set the scene!
On the whole, I am glad I read it, was an easy, quick read with some good twists and turns which I always enjoy. Just wish there was a bit more substance!

The Perfect Neighbour by Susanna Beard

Honestly- meh!! I’m so sad because this book had such potential! The storyline is amazing but it just wasn’t done properly! I found myself actually skipping through pages because they were so irrelevant and mundane. I found the first half really gripping but it just went downhill after that.
The ending was also very bland and disappointing- where’s the substance
