For me, the only redeeming thing about the play was the ending. The rest with either boring or a slog to get through due to the writing style (also a plot that is not for me). But alas, I have to get a good grade so I made it through.

So, I suppose this is probably the point where, to me, the manga deviates the most from the anime. That being said, it definitely gives me a lot more to love, as it's like I'm discovering it all over again. The overall quality also hasn't let up, which is equally great.

While I didn't it find it to be as good as the second volume, this volume definitely does not falter. Particularly, it still retains its odd juxtaposition of being both a cheerful slice of life and grim apocalypse survival story. Miki also brings in some nice conflict with here actions and the cliffhanger will make you want to pick up the next volume. We also figure out what happened to Taroumaru (his role is a bit different in comparison to the anime).

I actually think that when compared to the anime, the manga did a better job with the "Field Trip" arc. Also, Miki gets introduced more thoroughly, and she's my favorite character in the series, so that's a plus.
