an amazing sequel! It’s not directly after the Handmaid’s tale and not in her perspective either, but in turn you learn about a newer cast of characters who are equally interesting — including Aunt Lydia! such a complex and inspiring character.

one of the most amazing books i’ve read in my life — from the moment i picked it up it was already a favorite of mine. Margaret Atwood is a genius telling a story that women have known in their hearts for centuries, of suffering and power and human nature. nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

i wasn’t quite a fan of the age differences, and the species stuff was a bit odd too… the messages are nice and all but they could do without the odd and even creepy stuff….

a beautiful book from start to finish! shows how women lived back then, and also that they truly did have ambitions and goals despite the restrictions of their living! jo, amy, meg, and beth will always be a classic!
