I enjoyed this book and it was mostly paced well, I just wasn’t completely enthralled by the second half n idk why. I think potentially it’s bc I went into the book thinking it was a stand-alone but it’s not, n so obviously that changes the pacing for the second half. I enjoyed the characters too, although the ending did seem mildly forced to me.
Overall it was a fun read, and would recommend to those that are interested by the premise, just keep in mind that it’s not a stand-alone.

This was a fantastic romance. Loved the slow build of a friendship into a romantic relationship, you really see the characters learn to trust and lean on each other. Representation was great too.
Imo the pacing was just a lil off, particularly the last quater of the book. Felt too rushed for how much time we spent leading up to the end, and I would’ve liked to see a bit more from our main couple before the ending.
But I still had a great time, and the audiobook was well produced too.

Had enough fun reading it but the writing is not super strong. Characters are ok, plot is mediocre etc. Will read the second but not gonna rave about it.

Gosh Samantha Shannon is just so talented. This book was so well written, love how all the stories are interconnected, and each of the characters explore different themes that just hit.
I personally prefer priory but this was also so gorgeous. If you like high fantasy and haven’t read this duology, get on it.

I enjoyed this book, just wasn’t my favourite of the series. Still absolutely love the chosen family in the Murderbot series, but I had issues w some of the pacing at the beginning. Did love the ending though, so another great addition :))

I love this book. The humour is right up my alley, the science makes me geek out and the adventure is so enticing. It even made me cry because of just how human these characters are. I adore it.

She’s done it again. Talia Hibbert is just a great writer, I have yet to read a book of hers I don’t like. Particularly the brown sister’s trilogy is remarkable, and what an end.

The characters are so 3D, and are flawed but work towards being better. I love how the characters in this book communicate, and yes they have issues with it, but upon reflection they work it out. It’s just so realistic and I adore it.

My only small bit of feedback was the pacing felt kinda weird to me. Bit slow in some parts and then OMG THEYRE IN LOVE. Mildly too instantaneous for me and imo the book could’ve just been a tad longer and I think it would’ve helped bridge the hate-love vibe a bit better.

That being said, it made some sense for these characters  so wasn’t the end of the world, and they both acted on their words to each other n I appreciate that. also the plot was just so fun and cozy. Definitely recommend this whole series for any romance fans.

Goddamn I love tate’s writing. This was yet another banger BUT OH MY GOSH THE CLIFFHANGER?!!
Overall had a great time reading this, love the mystery in the thievery n that it’s a new take compared to the other books in the shadow grove universe. The characters felt a lil more one dimensional than the previous ones but hopefully that’ll change as the series develops.
Very excited to read the next one though oh my.

Excellent ending to the series. Loved the characters n the battles were so well done. I did feel like it dragged halfway through but both the start and the end were really strong. Very happy with the conclusion and am excited to read the rest of the PJU books.

Liz does it again ugh I’ve been hit in the feels. This book was so beautiful, I absolutely adored all the characters.

I loved that Miller was completely her own person with her own dreams and aspirations, and her journey throughout was gorgeous. Loved Kai as well, his dedication to his son was so cute. Only thing was some of the character decisions and communication bothered me. Yes they were probably realistic to people being stupid IRL but idk some of them didn’t sit right with me. Also felt a little long for me, particularly in the beginning half but that’s a very minor complaint and shouldn’t detract from anyone wanting to give this book a go.

Heaps of found family in here which is my absolute soft spot. Overall really loved it and can’t wait for the next one.
