Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
Wow!just wow!Dennis Lehane you are a hero!How could you write something like this.You just stole my heart.I never got a chance to see the movie..but now,I'm looking forward to it :)
How I found this book.When my vacations started,I just went to the second hand book store and ran my eyes through the shelves..and then I saw it sitting there..with it's nearly broken spine.I was so sad see it in such a condition.I was not sure whether to buy it or not..but I did..one of the best decisions in my life..:-)
To the author,
The things I loved about this book,
1.Amazing way of writing.It was beautifully crafted.Just wow!
2.Loved the characters.Andrew,Teddy,Chuck,Cawley,Rachel,Dolores,Sheehan,Noyce...and other fictitious
ones.
3.Loved the concept of this island.and nice name,by the way,Shutter Island *shudders*
4.Loved those criminally insane characters.Chuck aka Dr Sheehan,oh how can I forget him?I loved his character to the core :)
5.I loved the way author sometimes brought Teddy's dreams into the story..
6.I loved those codes..it was way in which the author dropped some clues for us.
7.The cliff-hanger end.cool and wicked..
8.The change of the hero into the villain..and that of his partner into a doctor..and the villain into the savior and the fact that all the things we read until then was rubbish..no,the dreams in the crazy mind of schizophrenic?well,I just loved it :)
9.I was always interested in neurology and surgery..I loved how thew author brought in topics like lobotomy,hallucinations and schizophrenia..actually,the whole book is based on this.It's the core of this amazing book :)
10.Use of acronyms and codes..Well,I'll have to say..Laeddis is a wicked person :)
Negatives:
well,I loved the book..but there were some parts that seemed to rubbish to be real.
1.The way they tried to make Teddy understand that he was Andrew,an ex-marshal and a criminally insane person.Like just letting him out of the boundaries and waiting for a hurricane to occur..well,I didn't like that part.But I loved the book,so I'll just avoid the negatives :)
2.Too much swearing?well it's a yes from me.I can't tolerate that much swearing in a single book.
So,I loved the book I suggest you to read it..Just amazing.It's for someone who can go that long..who is patient and is in for some thrill..toodles!

The Story of My Life by Helen Keller
One of the most beautiful books I have ever read.It is so wonderful..thanks to school..we got the unabridged version for reading this year.
Helen Keller is one of the most awesome people ever..She is determined,intelligent and funny.I got even more fond after I realized that we have a common love for books and that we both dislike examinations and textbooks with passion.She is not afraid to say what's in her heart.She has written about both her good and bad times.Again,I was able to understand her more after she told about her inability in solving math problems.She is a nature loving outdoorsy person that we love and is very extrovert.She is nice to everyone she meets which makes us love her even more.What makes her so amazing is that she is ever ready to acknowledge the people who have helped her and is grateful and down to earth.Love you,Helen Keller..you just went into my list of role-models!

I can't stop crying.It's just so sad!
Well,Ian McEwan..you just made me sad..why did you do that.Well,I guess life happens.The books is just beautiful.It touched my heart with all its sadness and beauty and was just wonderful.Cecilia and Robbie's love is just exemplary,a stuff of the myths.I don't know how to explain my feelings towards Briony.I hated for doing what she did but later I didn't know how I feel about her.But I have to say,she is a spineless creature and she admitted that too.
She tried repenting but that was not enough.Overall the book was great but there were some parts that I hated.I didn't even read the second part.It was about war and to me,it was pretty boring.I skipped most of those parts but I had to say I loved the third part and read it with all my concentration.Characters like Luc Cornet,even though small,leaves a mark.I loved all the characters but I hated one,Paul Marshall,that man! and Briony should've opposed the wedding.But,I'm not Briony and I can't control what happens in the story.I just went with it.I was happy with the ending of the third part but then I realized it was a lie!

But Briony gave them their happiness or that is what she said.
Overall,the book was awesome and this review is inadequate and filled with adjectives that mean the same thing!I would recommend this to all the crazy romantics out there and anybody who has the book with them,it is a must read.I don't think I'm going to rad it again but I will cherish it forever.

The book is just what I wanted after a thriller like Shutter Island.It was sitting in my shelf for months..I feel ashamed saying this.I borrowed it from my friend during summer vacation and I was too busy reading some stupid books back then..I really should've read this then..but it's okay..I consider myself lucky to get a chance to read this beautiful books..Khaled Hosseini,I love you for writing this book!
