The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

This was so beautiful I’m not sure words can describe it. Madeline Miller’s writing is soft and pretty and clear and had me convinced from the first page on. It was so easy to grow attached to Patroclus as the story goes on, and although Achilles wasn’t always easy to like, their love was the most beautiful thing I could’ve witnessed, and it was so beautiful written. I don’t always like heavy uses of metaphors, or authors who go around in circles instead of going straight to the point, but Madeline Miller has mastered the art of making those beautiful. A lot of things are implied instead of described yet it never felt like too much. This will forever leave a mark on my heart. The last few lines were the stitches on the wound.
