i'm chronically interested in decluttering books, and noticed the audiobook was only 5.5 hrs, so i decided to give it a go. this book could have easily been 1/3 of the size. this was a memoir, not an advice book; but if i'd known she was a personal finance blogger, i would've just looked at the blog. i see why people enjoyed it, but for me parts of this book were extreeeemely cheesy and cliche-- and oddly repetitive, down to using the exact same phrases within a couple minutes. not to diminish what she went through at all, but a parents' divorce at 28 should not have completely derailed her entire life; get a therapist girly!

you don't have to consider yourself an "angry person" to gain insight from this book! aspects of the text should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when he gives advice on eating in the beginning, but don't let those tidbits stray you from the larger points he's getting at; his Buddhist perspective has really helped me deal with personal frustrations & worries & it might help you too :)

super hard to give a star rating to this book. If I could it would be a high one; there are so many layers to this text that are initially confusing but hold so much weight and value once you dive into its history and Cha's background. I'd definitely recommend reading analysis alongside the piece, as its many elements are intentionally ambiguously narrated and deal with shared history, identity, mothering, movement, and a plethora of other things.
