i wish the world and the blue had been explained a little more - there was a lot of detail, but it didn't quite fit together for me in a way that explained why things happened and worked the way they did. however, I think it's a really compelling world and story, with sweet characters I was rooting for the whole time. grayce's journey and acceptance from family and friends was really beautiful, and I think the whole story works great for middle grade readers who are ready for the more sad/violent parts

YEESH, what a horrible, twisty, downright NASTY easter egg hunt of a book. I didn't know I'd end up with a readalike that blended summer, fireworks, and my corpse and the laws of the skies together so soon after reading both. I need a long bath.

two tense and creepy little stories - they feel a little formulaic, but the twists keep them interesting.

this is really sweet and provides a wide range of brief, accessible windows into different ways to be trans, nonbinary, or otherwise not cis. this works well for people learning about trans identities as well as people community - I always love seeing new ways to flourish and explore ourselves!
