As a queer woman in a loving, committed, relationship with another woman, I'm well outside of the book's intended audience, but it does provide invaluable insight into the age old question: are the straights okay? Decidedly, they are not
On a more serious note, I wish this went deeper into it's exploration of (straight) marriage. But, I imagine it's great as intro for anyonw who has never really thought about the history of marriage and power dynamics within gendered relationships in a patriarchal society.

Beyond upsetting to me that Theodore, a character whose entire personality revolves around animals and knowing things about them, talks about poisonous snakes multiple times throughout the book when he means venomous snakes smh!

The whole run (v. 1 & 2) is a fun reimagining of the characters and the art is super striking!
