It is so amazing how an author like Arthur C. Clarke can create a story so believable, yet so obviously untrue! 2001: A Space Odyssey is a great book that is right up my alley, and I am so incredibly glad I picked it up. I can most definitely see myself giving it a re read sometime in the near future.

Who would have guessed that a ghost story would be so funny? From the ghost being insulted at having a pillow thrown at his head, to the family finding a reappearing blood stain on the floor amusing, The Canterville Ghost was far more humorous than it appears. We have one of the characters (the mother I believe) offering the ghost a remedy for his "sickness"; the father telling the ghost to oil his chains because the clanking is annoying him; and then there's the ghost having depressive episodes because he can't scare anyone, worrying that he might have to retire, and wallowing in his own self pity because he can't wear a suit of armor properly! And to top it all off, the twins play pranks on him, hurt his feelings, and so he slumps away to sleep in, and I quote, "a comfortable red coffin."
