I am feeling a little reading slump coming on so I need to shed off any books I feel I am pushing myself to finish but not really enjoying. I don't see myself giving this one above three stars, mostly because I got the characters' roles mixed up (I honestly thought the bad guy was the good guy and vice versa).

I tried. Honestly, I don't know why I picked it up in the first place, because I was severely underwhelmed by the first series of four novellas, but I felt like I should have loved them. I started this book over a month ago and haven't even got a third of the way through. I've been in a slumpy mood over February, and I only ended up reading 8 books, which is significantly few for me who read an average of 18 books a month in 2020. I'm "shedding" a couple of books I'm not really enjoying and reading the first chapters of four others to see which one I like enough to continue. If all else fails, I guess I could just read LotR or WoT for the 10000000000th time.

There are some really good stories in here so far, and I've barely cracked the surface. Perhaps I will come back to this someday, (and because it is an anthology I will just pick up where I left off) but as of now, this is an official DNF.

Yeah, I barely gave this book a fair go at all. I know. But I have been slumpy lately, and have been warned (thank you Jonathan) that this is a very YA-feeling "adult" novel, and I just can't be bothered to give it much of a chance, especially when I need a really good book to bring me out of this almost-slump (it is an almost-slump. Being positive here. Or maybe I'm just living in denial. Oh well, that's consistent with my mental state anyways 🙃.)
