The Love Contract by Steph Vizard
2.0
The first 70% was so much fun & gave all the romcom vibes and was well on its way of being a cute wholesome story. Then the ending happened & everything was revealed and it totally ruined the book for me, I think it was totally unnecessary & completely ruined the fmc.
The Return of Ellie Black by Emiko Jean
4.0
This book just confirmed that Emiko Jean is auto-buy author for me. I was interested to see Emiko’s take on a thriller/mystery book & i will say it was so good!! I already knew i loved her writing but i never even thought of getting this kind of book from her & now i need more!
This book is told in multiple perspective’s & dual timelines. The different pov’s we get is so important to both Ellie & Chelsey characters development but also how they came to be who they are now. The core of this book is about family & overcoming trauma.
I’m not one to predict what happens in my books i just like to go with the flow but the ending was not surprising but i found it wasn’t important for me.
I can’t wait to read more of Emiko’s backlist & i can’t wait for any future books!!

Thank you Netgalley & Dreamscape Media for the ALC
i really enjoyed the first part of this book, it kept me engaged & i really enjoyed the main character but then in part 2 it felt like the whole book just changed the main character was annoying & i felt she had no depth to her. I didn’t believe in her relationships with either of the brothers. Ultimately i didn’t care at all about any of these characters & i didn’t enjoy this book.

Not Another Love Song by Julie Soto
3.5
I am a sucker for Julie Soto’s writing. I loved the classical music aspect of this book. I don’t think i’ve ever read anything with classic music in it so it was really fun to explore. The pacing of this book started off really good & i was really enjoying the characters. The best part of this book was the tension, i am a sucker for good tension & this book gave it & more! Also the cello scene! I will need that scenes in my casket with me when i die, just saying😅🥵.
This book was in third pov which after Forget Me Not being in first person, this really through me off. I found it really hard to get into because of the pov, which just had me not wanting to pick up the book even though i was enjoying it. After halfway through i found the pacing getting slower which made it harder for me to finish the book. I also just didn’t connect to the characters relationship
I can’t wait for more Julie Soto’s books in the future Thank you Forever & NetGalley for the arc!

Exes & Foes by Amanda Woody

i will read every single book Amanda Woody writes and i will talk to anybody who listens about their books!

❥ things i loved
One thing about Amanda’s books is that they are more than a ya romance, there is complicated family dynamics and trying to find yourself while figuring out who you are. I’m a sucker for complicated family dynamics and that places a big part in this book. I felt for both characters & their family situations and i found myself relating to some aspects of it.
I felt for Emma the most & just really wanted her to have her happy ending after everything that she went through.

❥ things i didn’t love
The book has two pov’s which just told me instantly who was going to end up with who. Even though i don’t like love triangle’s i would have liked that to be less obvious, tho i don’t know how you would make that happen, since they are the two main characters.
I didn’t feel connected to these characters like i did in their last book (They Hate Each Other is my roman empire!) Even though i felt for the characters & i loved learning about their life & the people in it & seeing them grow i just didn’t feel connected to them or their relationships.
I found the pacing to be off 50% through but it picked back up around the 70% mark
~~~
Ultimately i did really enjoy this book, it kept me entertained after weeks of not reading anything & i can’t wait for Amanda’s future books!
In Search of a Prince by Toni Shiloh
2.0
i really enjoyed parts of this book, like the plot, the fact that the fmc religion was a big peace of who she is & how that was incorporated in the book. I just didn’t find myself connecting to the characters. I didn’t feel the connection between the love interests.
Even though i didn’t love this one i think i’ll enjoy the next book in this series.
Hot Earl Summer by Erica Ridley
3.5
Historical Romance is a hit or miss for me & im so happy to say i truly enjoyed this book. The fmc has chronic pain & is very much a person who keeps her feelings and pain to herself. She also does not like children (girl i feel you). The mmc is the definition of Acts of Service. He was absolutely perfect, no one can convince me otherwise.
The highlight of this book is 100% the relationship. I tabbed this book & i’m telling you every single tab was just them being so cute. They’re had amazing banter from the second they met. I was just constantly laughing out loud.
I will definitely read the rest of this series, i love this family!
Forever, Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid
4.5
TJR has done it again! This book is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. I absolutely love sad books, i love when books make me cry.
This book follows Elsie and the aftermath of losing her husband. I truly think that’s all you need to know going into this book. This book follows dual timeless, the present & the past when Ben was alive. I loved that we got to follow Ben & Elsie’s relationship. I loved the way this book explored grief, that it isn’t a one way street. People grieve in different ways and at different times.
~~~
You truly have to be in the right mood for this book. I found myself picking it up reading a bunch & then not picking it up for weeks just because it is very heavy and takes a lot out of you to read. I’m really hoping the tv show adaption does this book justice🤞🏽
