Despite the ever nightmare-inducing art by Larroca, this was a really good story. I loved seeing the Mon Cala again, even though the king part broke my a heart.

Respect to Trios for being such a sneaky character. Way to go girl. You won’t survive this run, but I appreciate your efforts.

The story wasn’t bad, but they made it look like Luke knew everything that happened in Rogue One. I like that we got a glimpse at Jedha after, but there was a bit too much information already known in my opinion. At best, Luke would’ve heard secondhand stories from those who overheard the communications from Scarif, or from Leia who only knew some of the details. Not enough for Luke to say some of the things he did in this comic.

The whole Scar Squadron storyline is also very much stop and go. They’re a threat, then get sidelined for the bigger story. If they’re going to be proper villains, can we at least get a good run with them? I don’t love them (mostly on account that they’re Bad Batch knockoffs) but it bothers me even more to see them pop in as the supposedly all powerful unit, only to disappear again the next issue…

And the art is… well it’s Larroca so I wish I could ignore it because the faces are absolutely awful.

I hate Larroca so much. Someone needs to keep this man away from the Star Wars comics. I can’t stand it anymore. It’s so ugly, I can barely keep track of the actual story.

I don’t think it’s possible not to love Doctor Aphra.

This was funny and really good. You quickly forget that none of the main characters are there because Aphra and her crew are just that cool.

I loved the backstory and the university stuff. It really builds Aphra as a whole person beyond her being an archaeologist.

I couldn’t wish for a better on-page sapphic character ☺️

This story was really good! Vampire-type Queen, a bit of horror, rogues and rebels teaming up… definitely one of my favourites so far.

I still don’t like the lifelike faces though. Those issues are the ones I like the least because it looks like the faces were drawn later and pasted on. It’s just weird. I don’t read comics to see photograph-like drawings.

And now I need to read Aphra 1-6 😅

I’m a bit disappointed in this. I didn’t really vibe with the characters, and the way the story was told left me wanting more. The sort of insta-love didn’t pull me in, and not even the villains interested me.

I do have to say, though, that I loved reading about Batuu. I’m going back to Disney World next week and reading about all the little corners of BSO made me even more excited to visit it again.

I do wish we’d seen Hondo. My enjoyment of this book might have gone up to 3.5 ⭐️ if he’d taken part in the shenanigans…

It was all right.

As with all anthologies, some stories were better than others. The art also varied wildly (sometimes in the same issue), which didn’t help the flow.

Leila’s story shed a light on how she acquired her costume to go save Han. I like how it added directly to the events in the movie.
Han was… well he was Han, but that’s how we like him.
Lando’s story was okay, but felt unecessary.
Luke’s issue was weird. The art was the most inconsistent with that one, and the whole
Palpatine talking to him through telepathy across the universe
felt a bit much.
I didn’t care about the two special issues. Yoda’s isn’t anything we haven’t seen before. And the other one was just way too meta for me
